Thanks to The Porthole Restaurant and the amazing support of the reggae community in Portland, reggae Sundays enjoyed a successful return to the deck of The Porthole this past summer. Despite above average rainfall early in the season, few shows were cancelled and most weekends were nothing short of a funky reggae party outside in the sun and fun on the waterfront of beautiful downtown Portland.
Highlighted by the return of local reggae stalwarts Zion Train, Sundays were shared by a weekly rotation of roots-driven reggae heavies including Royal Hammer and Gorilla Finger. Regardless of who was playing, Sunday afternoons were filled with deep pockets, relentless dancing and a shared community of love and music.
While there were challenges from week to week in pulling off such a party, there is hope that we will be able to return for summer 2024 to keep the party rolling!
