NV Entertainment are various projects from musician/producer/songwriter Matt Shardlow (State Radio, Zion Train, Div Kid, 8 Track). Hailing from Portland, Maine, Shardlow has spent his life immersed in performance and music production. Beginning at 5 years old he began singing in front of large audiences while absorbing everything he could from mentors and fellow artists along the way. From humble beginnings at Big Sound Studios with The Hobbes, he began collaborating and learning from musicians that continue to influence the local scene and beyond. Matt has performed or collaborated with musicians from bands such as the Nth power, Lettuce, Dirty Honey, Rustic Overtones, The Mallet Brothers, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Dispatch, John Brown's Body, Boston, Paranoid Social Club, Mighty Mystic, Ray LaMontagne, State Radio, Big D and the Kids Table, Lyle Divinsky, Kenya Hall, Micromasse, The London Souls, As Fast As, Here We Go Magic, Andi Fawcett and Jeremiah Freed among others.
Shardlow's time in the Portland music scene began in the mid 90's, but peaked when he began working at The Big Easy music club in the early 2000’s. This created an opportunity and space to bring his worlds together, mutually benefitting all. What resulted was nothing short of catching lighting in a bottle. The Big Easy era included most of Maine's most influential acts and musicians, while also hosting an array of national bands. This served as a vital opportunity for up and coming local artists, while creating volumes of memories for local music fans. This environment served as a hub of creativity and community that resembled an episode of Cheers for musicians. It was a profoundly creative situation that any young musician could only hope to find themselves in. This era in the Portland music scene left a legacy of music companionship and inspiration that encouraged future generations of musicians.
